Happy Birthday Disneyland

Today is the 56th birthday of Disneyland! Wooot!! Seems like it should be a lot older than that. Also, one of my roommates has a friend who's already in Florida and they have told me where my work location may be and I'm super excited about it! I don't think I'm allowed to say too much about it other than I'm happy haha. Three weeks left!!!

ONE MONTH!

ONE MONTH FROM TODAY IS CHECK-IN!!!! holy crap.  So I have a month to pack and shop and see people and get my life in order ... super.  But all of that seems insignificant to the fact that it's only 1 friggen month away!!!!! ahhh!!! I am SO excited about this; peace out MA, it's been fun. Moving on to bigger and better things : ]

Taking a hiatus from my hiatus to wish everyone a Happy Fourth of July!!!

Thursday, June 23, 2011

I'm not too sure what to write about but I felt like writing nevertheless.  More and more CPs are starting their first weeks of the program and by the sounds of things it seems to be going well.  Lots of fun and lots of work which to me sounds perfect.
Yesterday, I randomly was invited to go to a Red Sox game.  We lost, there were 4 rain delays, and the game got called in the bottom of the 8th, but it was a blast : ] Today I went down to BSU and got my degree finally.  I was too impatient to wait for them to send it in the mail in July.  Originally they said they'd send them out in June, those liars!
Anyways, I feel like sharing random character facts.  I don't know why but why not? If something's interesting to me, perhaps it'd be interesting to someone else. Therefore, today's random facts are featuring the one and only Cinderella.

  • In the original Grimm story, the step sister's were not ugly, just mean
  • Cinderella was a nickname
  • There's no mention of mice or a fairy Godmother in the original story, just lots of birds
  • Cinderella is a interactive geometric tool ... interesting
  • Her castle is the most photographed building in the world
  • There is 3.37 million gallons of water in the moat
  • Her last name was Tremaine
  • During the song "Sing Sweet Nightingale", three of the bubbles are Mickey heads
  • 90% of the movie was done in live-action model before animation
  • When her raggedy dress transforms into her ball gown was supposedly Walt Disney's favorite piece of animation
and possibly the biggest mistake every one makes, and my giant pet peeve ... HER DRESS IS WHITE! NOT BLUE!!!

Sunday, June 19, 2011

I've decided that there are way too many birthdays within the month of June.  Today is one of my roomie's birthday, so happy birthday Maci!!

Today is also Father's Day and to celebrate we're making my dad spend time with people he could care less about and bringing my sister to the airport, hurray!

Lightning McQueen from Cars will be joining a stunt show in WDW, he's replacing Herbie, sorry Herbie.
Rapunzel is becoming an official Disney Princess. Didn't know she wasn't already. There's going to be a ceremony or something on October 2nd, oo lala.
You can start booking the health and wellness/ princess rooms now.
You can win a WDW vacation for 7 days, 6 nights.  All the information about it can be found here
Regis Philbin is going to be honored as a Disney Legend... that just makes me giggle

that is all

Blogger lately for me hasn't been working very well which is kinda convenient since I haven't had too much to talk about.  Still counting down the days til I can finally leave for Florida. My roommate just got back from being in Disney and she uploaded pictures which made me jealous.  My sister flew in for the weekend so that's been interesting having her here.  Yesterday was my mother's retirement lunch which lasted for 5 hours, who knew teachers and nurses could drink so much? My hair is getting lighter slowly but surely, it looks strawberry-blondish now.  Christopher's roommates are strongly for living in Chattham which is sad, means we won't be in the same building : ( but that's life. And speaking of Chris ... TODAY IS HIS 22ND BIRTHDAY!!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHRISTOPHER!!!! <3

Chubby little cubby all stuffed with fluff

This is Winnie the Pooh's birthday month! I haven't been able to find the day yet but it was this month in 1921 that Pooh was created, so happy birthday Pooh!

The original: Winnie the Pooh pictured in 1928 with his first owner, Christopher Robin Pooh and Christopher Robin : ]

Pooh Facts!

  • Pooh was an 18in-high Alpha Farnell teddy bear bought from Harrods for Christopher Robin on his first birthday. He cost 10/6d and had a mechanism inside him that meant he could growl.
  • At first he was called Mr Edward Bear, after the proper form of Teddy. He was renamed after a real bear called Winnie at London Zoo.
  • ‘Winnie’ was short for ‘Winnipeg’
  • n the ‘sport’ of Poohsticks, competitors drop sticks into a stream from a bridge and then wait to see whose stick will float across the finish line first. This game was played for real by Christopher Robin.
  • A.A. Milne, Christopher Robin and the illustrator E.H. Shepard all came to resent Winnie the Pooh
  • Pooh is patron saint of teddy bears.
  • Since the 1970s, Pooh Bear has been voiced by three actors: Sterling Holloway, Hal Smith and Jim Cummings.
Pooh rocks, all I have to say.

TWO MONTHS! AHHHHHH!!!!

I'm an interesting version of a "girly-girl".  My favorite color is pink, I love dresses and looking nice, I'm pretty old fashioned when it comes to romance but I don't like shopping, I rarely buy make-up, I rarely wear heels, I spend all day in sweats, and my hair is always in a ponytail because it's easy and out of the way.  So my mom basically forced me to go shopping with her today because in her eyes, I don't have enough clothes, especially Disney clothes.  You should look in my closet, I have more than enough clothes thank you very much.  So I got a few new shirts and shorts and she made me buy a dress that the sales girl said I looked precious in.  This is why my sister should move back to this state, she enjoys the girly girl things. This is my rant of the day.

Disney Parks are raising their tickets prices starting Sunday.  It's only a few dollars more but in the grand scheme of things, it adds up.  Disneyland will be raising it a lot compared to Disney World.

There's a new laser show coming to Disney California Adventure starting next Friday.  Obviously this means someone has to go and tell me all about it so I can live vicariously through them ... just saying.

The Cars franchise is passing the Toy Story franchise. There is something SERIOUSLY wrong with this.  Cars 2 hasn't even come out yet! Come on people, go out and buy tons of Toy Story memorabilia, right now, go.

The writer for the show Lost is now writing a sci-fi show for Disney but won't tell any of the details of the show.  Disney and sci-fi I never really thought I'd hear in the same sentence again. Not since that show with Alexz Johnson and Erik Von Detten ... now I can't even remember the name of it... So Weird? something like that.

Someone decided to take the Disney Princesses and turn them into Super Heroes.  The only problem I have with this is that they show Esmerelda, Mulan, and Meg who are not Princesses and they don't show Cinderella who is. http://www.ology.com/technology/picture-disney-princesses-superheroines

Selena Gomez is in the hospital for reasons unknown, sad.

AND TWO MONTHS FROM NOW I'LL BE IN DISNEY WORLD!!!!!!! crazy

Thursday, June 9, 2011

Happy Birthday Donald Duck

In two months from today I shall be on a plane to Disney, holy moly.  It seems so soon but at the same time not nearly soon enough. I can't wait to get out of here!!!!!!!!!

The Lone Ranger is set to release in December 2012
The Primeval Whirl will be closed until at least mid September.  It was set to reopen this month but yet again got pushed back to further in investigation of the death of Russell Roscoe who I mentioned was injured while working on the ride.
California Adventure closed down the Tortilla Factory, I'm not sure this is really a loss ...
Disney Interactive's new game Disney Universe is a new multi-player game that goes through different Disney worlds and you can play as a Disney character.  Plays like a lego game, sounds like Kingdom Hearts, looks like this: Disney Universe Monsters Inc 2
Disney is opening new stores, and not the interactive stores that have been in the news lately, these stores will be dedicated to babies.  Disney for the next generation? I guess I can get behind this.

And last but not least, Happy Birthday Donald ... I still don't like you though

New Summer Layout, OOOh, AAAh

The Roommate Finder thingy on the DCP website was activated yesterday for those doing the Fall session. So it is official, me and Becky are roomies, woot! Can not wait to meet her in person!

On a much sadder note, Disney is laying off over 200 people this week or more specifically 5% of employees world wide.  Supposedly it has to do with the decline of DVD sales or something. Either way, it's unfortunate.

Maurice's workshop is going to be added to the Beauty and the Beast's part of Fantasyland.  The magic mirror is involved to that leads from the workshop to the library? something like that. The details weren't very specific but that's where Belle shall be if you're looking for her.

Rafael Nadal, after winning his 6th French Open, went to celebrate at Disneyland Paris, good choice.

And a nice big shout out to my friend John who is celebrating his 22nd birthday today! : ]

"Quality time with your kids: You know what? Quit bugging 'em. Leave 'em alone. They like it! "

This is for all you xbox gamers out there. Go buy a kinect because there's a new Disney game headed our way. It's called Kinect Disneyland Adventures, basically you get to explore a virtual Disneyland from home and even go on certain rides, which is kinda cool.

I wasn't aware, but Saturday was Gay Day at DW, which is kind of epic.  Too bad a bunch of people went out and protested it.  Seriously world, same sex couples are not hurting anyone, let them live their lives.  You don't see them out protesting against straight people.

There are open casting calls for the new Oz movie on the 11th. I have no idea where though.  They give an address but it doesn't say the state.  So if anyone wants to be an extra, go to 1999 Centerpoint Parkway in Pontiac between 10-4, good luck.

The Nightmare Before Christmas is going to be on 3D blu ray, August 30th.  Do people actually own 3D blu ray players?

Festival Disney 2012 dates are out.  The competitions will take place on select weekends between March 9- May 5 and June 1&2.  Yay for helping keeping the music programs alive!

Donald Duck's 77th birthday is on Thursday ... woo

And I'm sure everyone knows about the deaths of Betty Taylor and Wally Boag by now.  Disney released a bunch of pictures from when they performed so here's a few.

   (That's Julie Andrews!)

A Dream That You Wish Will Come True

Delta Airlines is having a contest, and the winner of this contest gets to bring three guests to share a night in Cinderella's Castle!! Here's what they're giving away:

  • Roundtrip flight to Orlando
  • One-night inside the Cinderella Castle Suite, located at the Magic Kingdom park
  • Two-nights in a Disney Deluxe Resort Hotel
  • Magic Your Way Tickets with Park Hopper Option
  • Disney’s Magical Express complimentary roundtrip airport/hotel transportation service
To enter the contest go here before August 15th ... or don't so my chances of winning increase : ]

There's a rumor that Tim Burton might be directing POTC 5, that'd be a twist for sure.
The Phineas and Ferb play-n-greet opens on Sunday, finally.  Tis only half a month late... NBD

Tis all I got.

Thursday, June 2, 2011

Ok I've totally been neglecting this but I'm back.  The DCP sent out emails this week reminding us about the Disney look.  When I first read the heading, I thought they were responding to my email I wrote ... oh 3 months ago; but no, it was just your generic "don't forget the rules" type of thing. Also, class registration's been opened and classes have been filling up fast.  The most popular by far is Heritage which is all about Disney's Heritage (der), I think this is already full to be honest.  I believe only one of my roommates is going to be taking classes. I considered it but then I thought about it and well, the classes available wouldn't help me further a career in Psych and it'll take up time during the week where I could be making $$$.
Disney released a new line of vinyl dolls called Pop.  I don't really understand the vinylmation thing, it's just not for me but these are kinda cute actually.

Star Tours is coming to Disneyland on Friday, woot
A new parade started last week in Disneyland as well, "Mickey's Soundsational Parade" If you want to waste 15 minutes, go watch the video of the premiere.

Sleeping Beauty's castle in Disneyland Paris got a make-over.  It's now a new shade of pink and blue and has more gold, sounds pretty.
This isn't Disney related but yesterday, Mass was in a state of emergency as 8 counties were under tornado watch.  Luckily it skipped my town and all we had was a pretty bad storm that was on and off all day but it was awesome.  I love thunder storms.  So to those that were hurt and to everyone in Springfield where the tornado actually touched down, hope you're ok and safe.

It's still pretty early so there aren't too many things to share yet.  Stay tuned.

Wednesday, May 25, 2011

Hello bloggers, it's a beautiful muggy night here in good old Massachusetts, or should I say morning as it's almost 5am, and as I lay on my bed trying to sleep and failing to do so, I decided to write a little. For some reason this site wont load on my computer so I'm typing on my phone which means until I can properly update, this will be short and sweet. Last night Christopher took me to see the new Pirates movie. I dont know why the reviews have been so poor, I liked it a lot; very witty. Also, there has been a pirates section added to World of Color and the trailer for the muppets movie is out and it looks awesome. Lastly for now, Cars 2 seems to be advertising like mad for this new movie. They made a Statefarm car insurance commercial... Really Pixar? really? Unnecessary.

"I hate kids, they're barely human."

It has been cold, cloudy, and raining for almost two weeks now.  Where's the sun? Where's the warm weather? Why can't I be at Disney? The fall advantagers have been checking in this week and I'm super jealous of them all.

In other news, Legoland is has announced that it will be officially opening October 15th. This means that I will be in Florida for the grand opening of Legoland.  That's pretty darn cool.

A cast member was injured in a fall in Animal Kingdom and brought to the hospital.  There's no other news about it so far.  What's with people constantly getting sent to the hospital?

The new Pirates movie, although being very profitable, is not getting the best reviews.  Uh oh, this makes me nervous but I still can't wait to see it and judge for myself.

Fun, creepy fact of the day: Osama bin Laden's brother has a mansion a few miles north of Magic Kingdom.  I so want to go see that when I'm down there.

Cute image Pixar made for Vanity Fair : ]

Boozin' and Bloggin', this is the life

POTC 4 has had the biggest international opening of all time.  It grossed $346.4 million world wide ... holy moly.  It's also been leaked online so if you're too lazy to go to the theatre or too poor (like me) you can still see it.  Of course, Chris told me I wasn't allowed to watch it without him so who knows when I'll be able to see it, sigh.

A woman was found unconscious on Space Mountain yesterday so the ride was shut down for the day.  She was taken to the hospital and so far there's no word on why she was passed out or how she is.  The weather was pretty bad so it was probably from dehydration or something.  She did have some medical condition so it wasn't the ride's fault even though Disney was telling the guests that the ride was shut down due to technical difficulties.  No matter what happened, our thoughts are with her.

George Lucas on Star Tours.  He looks like he'd be fun to hang out with. I don't care if he's like my parent's age, he's friggen George Lucas!!

Details about the Fantasyland expansion are out.  Some of this I knew, some of this is new:

  • Cinderella's Castle is getting a new wall to divide it from the rest of Fantasyland
  • The Beauty and the Beast Castle/ restaurant will be in three sections, the main room/ballroom, West Wing, and Beast's art gallery.  Special effects include snow that will be year round.
  • Gaston gets a tavern and Belle gets a 40 min. interactive ride
  • The Dumbo ride is getting redone. New paint and new carousals
  • Ariel's under the sea journey will have scenes of her grotto and Ursula's lair
  • The Barnstormer is getting new paint, a new station and is now being called The Great Goofini
  • The Seven Dwarf's Mine Train is a roller coaster which has an appearance by Snow White
Cars 2 will officially be showing a teaser of the new Pixar film Brave

I think that's all I have for now.  Oh, congratulations to all those that survived the rapture yesterday! Even though he called it off way before 6pm, and that was the second time he predicted the end of the world.  Next, we just have to get through 2012's "apocalypse".

New Cars 2 trailer ... Lego edition. Was Pixar just bored? or inspired? You decide.

Friday, May 20, 2011

"Why is the rum always gone?"

Today is kind of a big day for Disney.  Today is the opening day of POTC 4!!!

Oh the smoulder ... <3

Anways, Star Tours opens up today too!George Lucas himself is making an appearance to commemorate the opening, that would be sick to see him.  There's a live stream of the event going on but I don't know where to find it. I think it's on the Disney official blog if anyone's interested.

I saw Thor yesterday. There's definitely a reason it's been the #1 movie for two weeks. I liked it a lot and it does sort of have that Disney charm even though it's a superhero movie. I recommend it, so you should go see it.

I mentioned a while back that Armie Hammer was in talks to play Tonto in the new Lone Ranger movie, well he was officially signed on the for the role, so yay

Tim Burton pulled out of the Maleficent movie!!! I was so looking forward to seeing what he'd do with it too :(

Michelle Williams was brought in to play the good witch in the new Oz movie, that'll be interesting. The cast is pretty awesome so far.  They have James Franco, Mila Kunis, and Rachel Weisz, all of whom I'm a fan.

All for now folks

Just for fun

If I had a Fairy Godmother ...

I'd want this gown

With these shoes ( but in white, with some sparkle)

Live in this Castle

 With this "carriage"

Be this wealthy

And this happy ...

With this Prince

Christopher <3

For this long

"I'm a damsel, I'm in distress, I can handle this. Have a nice day"

Thank youuuu Disneyyyyy

wizards-of-waverly-star-1.jpg wizards-of-waverly-place-2.jpg

Oh how girls everywhere shall miss Wizards of Waverly Place ...

WDW's Tiki Room is going to be reopened on Friday. It was shut down because of a fire that happened in January, I wonder if that fire was intentional ...
Disney trademarked the Seal Team Six logo for video games, I find this odd but maybe that's just me.
ABC canceled No Ordinary Family : ( womp womp.  They canceled a few other shows (Detroit 1-8-7, Off The Map, Mr. Sunshine, Brothers and Sisters and ‘V’but this was the only one I watched, can't say I'm too surprised considering how they ended the season though.
Vanessa Hudgens wants on Glee. Ryan Murphy, SAY NO! No one needs High School Musical to invade an actual good high school musical.
Check out the video of the progress being made on Cars Land in Disney's California Adventure, it looks pretty cool so far.

and I had a nice conversation with my roomie Becky last night at 3am haha.  She seems so nice and so fun, I can't wait to meet her in person. It already feels like we've been friends forever.  We both like Canada, we're both night owls, she lives right near Niagra Falls which is so cool! and I can totally tease her for being from NY cause I'm from MA haha. Ugh Disney, why are you so far away?

"Attention campers. Lunch has been cancelled due to lack of hustle. Deal with it"

GRADUATION DAY!!! Officially an alumni of Bridgewater State University woot woot.  Now I just have to get everything ready for Disney and wait for the 9th of August to be here.  Today's adventure -- banking.  I have TD which is hard enough to find around where I live, it's non existent down there.  The CP recommends Partner's Federal Union which was set up specifically for WDW cast members which is kind of awesome so I'll have to check that out when I get officially put on the pay roll. It won't let me apply for membership this early, I tried.
I didn't even know that this was a lawsuit, but apparently the lawsuit against a Donald Duck who groped a lady was dismissed lol.  First he was a Nazi, now he's a sex offender ... I knew there was a reason I never was a big Donald fan, not to mention I could never find him in the parks to get his autograph!
EPCOT's Flower and Garden Festival comes to a close tomorrow, only leads to me question what do they do with all the figures and flowers when the festival is over?
You can be eligible to win  $250 Disney gift card if you book a vacation through Pixie Vacations -- so basically you have to spend a hell of a lot more money to get the card but hey, more Disney stuff!
Two guys have been charged for selling fake Disney pins, and those pins are a big deal to a lot of people so if I was a victim in this I'd be wicked upset. On the other hand, because those pins are in such high demand, congrats to the men for coming up with the idea, it was a good one, a bad one, but a good one. I'm glad you got caught.
Muppet's teaser poster! I apologize for the poor quality, that's how I found it.

Official synopsis of the new Monster's Inc movie can be found here, it's short and sweet and makes me excited : ]
I found this article saying Disney villains should really be heroes, I don't agree with it but it was interesting so if you'd like to read it, go ahead
and last but certainly not least. POTC 4 comes out in  6 DAYS!!! that is less than a week my friends! Who's going to the midnight viewing? If I could convince Chris to, I'd so go!

Monday, May 9, 2011

Room is all packed, finals are all done, checking out in about an hour ... I'M DONE WITH COLLEGE!!!!
This is so crazy, I can't believe four years of college is already gone, me and my roommates are like ahhhh we don't want to leave each other!!! : ( : ( but it has its upsides, no more classes, tests, annoying neighbors that scream in the middle of the night which makes sleeping impossible ... Anyways, my friend recently turned me on to thatguywiththeglasses.com's nostalgia critic, he's pretty funny and he has a mouth of sailor. While looking through his rants, I came across one that was Disney related so here ch-ch-check it out!

Saturday, May 7, 2011

"I told you kids to stay out of my butt!"

This is the last weekend that Disney World is doing Grad Nite. The tradition started back in 1972 to fill the park on the off-season but now that they're pretty busy all year round it's becoming too much to handle so they're stopping.  Sorry classes of 2012 and beyond, you're being gipped.

Today is the world premiere of POTC 4!!! It comes out here in 2 weeks and I'm sooo excited for it, I love me some Jack Sparrow.

Series finale of Suite Life was last night, tis an end of an era ... and I'm glad.

There's two scripts being written for a new Tarzan movie, I don't know why they have to make another one but this one will be live-action so maybe it'll be good.

There's a new Pixar short coming out called La Luna. The producer says it's a lot different from the other shorts they've done; that better not be code for it's bad. Here's the synopsis:

La Luna is the timeless fable of a young boy who is coming of age in the most peculiar of circumstances. Tonight is the very first time his Papa and Grandpa are taking him to work. In an old wooden boat they row far out to sea, and with no land in sight, they stop and wait.

A big surprise awaits the little boy as he discovers his family’s most unusual line of work. Should he follow the example of his Papa, or his Grandpa? Will he be able to find his own way in the midst of their conflicting opinions and timeworn traditions?
From 6-9am on July 23, passholders can get up to 75% discount on select merchandise in Downtown Disney. "Don't you just, llooovveee a bargain" : ]

and last but not least, one week from today is my college graduation. I have one more final on Monday and then four years of college will officially be complete.  Today I have to pack up my room which will be very bittersweet.  As much as I'm so over being in school, I don't like being home. If there was a way I could stay here without having to take class or pay for anything, that would be lovely.

Thursday, May 5, 2011

I finally gave Cars a chance, wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, still think it's overrated though. I also saw the movie Beastly which is suppose to be a modern take on Beauty and the Beast, also wasn't as bad as I thought so all in all it's been a decent movie day, and it's only 4 o'clock!

Monday, May 2, 2011

"You get your picture in the papes, you're famous. You're famous, you get anything you want."

My News: Today was the last day of classes, potentially for years, YAY!! I got to hold a human brain in class today too, twas an experience to be had.

World News: Bin laden has been killed

and most importantly, Disney News! : Since the refurbishment of Splash Mountain, there's a chance that you won't get wet if you ride it.  The way they angeled the water cannons, the water doesn't reach as far.
-The tickets for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party and Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party are on sale! I'm hoping to work these so I won't have to buy tickets.
-Speaking of tickets, tickets for the Night of Joy 2011 are also on sale, if you look at the lineup this might interest you more.
-A while back I mentioned a story where a crew member went missing from a Disney cruise, well they still haven't found her but her credit card was recently used so this is giving people a lot of hope that she's still alive, and I hope for their sake that she is.
-The British Invasion is being replaced with a band that plays more than just Beatles music, this saddens me because I was looking forward to seeing them : (
-Also in the realm of bad news, there won't be a second Wizards movie, womp womp

All for now : ]

Star Wars Weekends will be going on through the months of May and June, I'm so jealous I won't be there!! They are having special celebrity guests and I would love to meet them. Yes little Karen is a Star Wars fan, I can't help it. I also liked the series but then when they introduce Hayden Christensen as Anakin in Episode II, I was hooked... he's a heart-throb, and his birthday was last week ... yeah I know his birthday.  Sorry, tangent. ANYWAYS here is the full schedule of who and when guests are coming:

Another tangent ; anyone notice how great and grateful are spelled differently? Does anyone know why this is? Yes this is random and no I didn't misspell it and have the annoying red line pop up but I'm just curious.  I've also been drinking a little. It's friday, sue me : p

"Oh, he's so handsome... just like his reward posters."

I was surfing the web and came across another blog which was talking about a new book that came out about Disney's secretaries.  This got me to thinking that as much as I've be interested in Disney, I never felt the need to know about Walt Disney himself; therefore ...Things about Walt Disney that I didn't know until today!

  • He married his first official secretary
  • His father was Canadian, and abusive
  • He attended McKinley High --- that's for the Gleeks out there : ]
  • He tried to join the army at 16 but was rejected for being too young
  • He joined the Red Cross and drove a cartoon-covered ambulance in France
  • He had a problem managing money which led to his first company going bankrupt
  • Oswald was created before Mickey, he lost the rights to Oswald so he needed a replacement character
  • He held the Technicolor patten for two years
  • He felt guilty for the death of his mother, he bought his parents a house near his studios and a faulty furnace caused her to die
  • He was diagnosed with cancer when he went in to get x-rays of an old polo injury
  • He created and funded Cal Arts
Fascinating, at least to me.

and ooohhhhh my goodness I would die if this could be mine, it's so cute! Hint to Chris, if you wanted to do something special this would be it ... http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2011/04/be-a-royal-princess-at-walt-disney-world-and-now-at-home/ too bad it's a few hundred dollars. A girl can dream.

Other news:
The show I'm in the band has been canceled, never watched it personally ... apparently neither did anyone else
Armie Hammer from The Social Network is in talks to star in The Lone Ranger
Suite life series will finally end next week... thank bob. I strongly dislike Debby Ryan, I am not thrilled she's getting her own show
The Royal Wedding is tomorrow, so everyone, including Disney can stop talking about it!
Dooney and Bourke have designed a bag for the 40th anniversary of WDW
On Monday, Disney will be announcing the September 2011 free dining plan to the public, DVC holders already got an email about it
I think that's it.

Almost everyone who's been to Disney knows about the kitchen sink correct? It is on my bucket list as well as the bucket lists of ice cream fanatics all over the world! Well now the recipe has been released in a youtube video showing us how to make our own kitchen sink : ] Who wants to take a trip to Roche Bros.?

"It would be so nice if something would make sense for a change"

Things have been pretty hectic lately as school comes to a close and I find myself more stressed out than I have been in months.
Only a little over 100 days til I'll be in Disney, thank bob
6 more days of class
14 days til the end of finals
Now if only I could find a summer job and my parents could make up their minds and pick a house, I'd be all set.  Yeah, they're planning on moving now that I'm suppose to be done with school and I'm totally fine with it other than the small detail of being homeless once they leave. Sorry Maine, I have no interest in living in you again.
But onto more things Disney related:
I forgot to mention this the other day, but Brazil is rumored to be added to EPCOT, yay more drinking around the world!
The Thunder Mountain ride in Disneyland France had a malfunction which caused 5 people to be injured.  Apparently one of the big rocks fell on them during the ride.  Only one was in bad enough condition to be taken to the hospital, poor guy
There's an art show coming to D-Street on May 14th if you're interested in that sort of thing. You can see the whole collection on DisneyDStreet.com, I personally like this one...
Prelude
There was a Lemonade Mouth flashmob at an Apple store in LA led by one of the stars of the movie, the choreographer and a few backup dancers
Disney is making some of their hotel rooms into health and wellness suites or princess themed to draw in new customers, aka make more money
The Animal Kingdom Lodge not only celebrated it's 10th anniversary but was also awarded the AAA four diamond status which I guess is a big deal, so congrats to them
that's all the news I can think of at the moment ...

And now you know ... cause it's Mike's Super Short Show!

I haven't found too many interesting Disney-related things to talk about for the past few days but today I came across an article that suggested that Apple should look into buying Disney.  Not only did this catch my eye, it made me pretty mad.  Apple is trying to expand it's horizons because every other company is now copying them and they need to look into the future which is smart don't get me wrong, but the author of this article had the nerve to compare Steve Jobs to Walt Disney and say that he was the Disney of our day ... umm excuse me,  NO ONE IS ON WALT DISNEY'S LEVEL.  Could you even imagine seeing that stupid apple logo on Disney products? Disney is Disney, they will not be owned, they will own. I think they should buy out Apple just out of spite.
Demi Lovato quit Sonny With A Chance, not like we didn't see that coming but since she is Sonny, it's only a matter of time before the show is canceled.  It's been on hiatus since she went into rehab anyways, might as well just cancel it before the new season starts.
The Avengers movie will be the first Marvel/Disney film to be released if anyone cares. It's springfest at my school and the theme this year is superheroes so it's relevant in my life at least haha.
Tokyo DisneySea is reopening on the 28th, woot
Lemonade Mouth premiered last Friday, soooo much better than the suite life movie. Rivals Camp Rock in my opinion.
Glee's Chris Cofler aka Kurt is writing a Disney pilot! I have no idea what it's about but I love that kid so I hope it's good. It's based off the book "The little leftover witch" ever heard of it? me neither

In other news, I found my roommates, all five of them lol. They're hilarious and I cannot wait to meet them in person and just to go down to Florida in general. How many more days?

"I create feelings in others that they themselves don't understand."

Who else thinks that Mickey should be on dancing with the stars? I mean that'd be awesome! ABC is owned by Disney after all. If I wasn't so lazy I would totally email them and request a Disney themed episode, someone should get on that.

or or or ... America's Next Dance Crew? I would die if Randy Jackson came on and was like "yo, Mickey is mah dawg yo!" not that he ever appears on that show. Yes, I do have too much time on my hands.

Also according to Forbes, Scrooge McDuck is the wealthiest fictional character of 2011 so far lol that's a fun fact if I ever heard one. He beat out characters such as Iron Man, Batman, and Mr. Monopoly ... you go Scrooge!

Pictures of Beast's Castle!!! is it 2012 yet?

Beast Castle: Behind the Scenes With Walt Disney Imagineers Beast Castle: Behind the Scenes With Walt Disney Imagineers Beast Castle: Behind the Scenes With Walt Disney Imagineers Beast Castle: Behind the Scenes With Walt Disney Imagineers

Pinocchio, Fantasia, and Snow White are headed in to the Disney Vault, go buy them quick! and when I say them I mean Snow White, as far as I'm concerned, the others should have never been out of the vault.

And last but not least, EPCOT is selling a double decker bus.  For a simple price of $400,000 this beauty could be yours!

"It was a wonderful phrase. It has some rhythm. Laduda Ladada. No, that wasn't it."

Haunted Mansion has themselves some new ghosts, and I can't wait to see them, I love that ride!

Disney Cruise lines announced their itineraries and homeports last week for 2012, I'm still bummed they won't make one out of Boston, I mean hey, we have a harbor... well, they added more that was announced today which you can read more about here.

There may or may not be a Tron 3 coming out , tis a rumor but I wouldn't be surprised. Hollywood is sequel crazy.

Still making my way through the list of Disney animated movies.  Last night was The Lion King 2 and The Adventures of Winnie the Pooh.  Currently I'm watching The Lion King 1 1/2 and then Chris suggested The Little Mermaid so that'll probably be on the agenda.

"Don't you understand, Tink? You mean more to me than anything in this whole world! "

I read that Tokyo Disney is going to partially reopen this weekend. That would be amazing considering everything that's been happening in Japan, hope it works out.  In other news, Fantasyland is getting a castle! Beast's castle to be precise.  It's suppose to be a part of a new Beauty and the Beast restaurant which will open next year : ]

I've been having issues sleeping at a normal time over the past few days so I've decided to make my time spent awake productive by watching a lot of Disney movies. I forgot how much I liked Treasure Planet, and I can finally say I saw the animated version of Peter Pan, yeah I know, how could I not have seen Peter Pan? Well I've seen it 1000 other times and have seen parts of the Disney movie but I never saw the whole thing at the same time, but now I have so yay me.  I also watched Sleeping Beauty last night, it was another nice Disney filled night.  Now what should I watch tonight?

P.S. I hate Tinkerbell ...

Challenge Day: 30

Challenge Day 30Favorite statue, fountain, or eye candy in the parks?

The End.

Challenge Day: 29 ... almost done!

Came home this weekend to celebrate my birthday with my parents and it ended up being a disaster, even more than my actual birthday.  Just as I'd given up hope, my wifey texted me saying I should check my front door and when I did I found balloons and a birthday card, one of the balloons was of Cinderella : ] She made my night a lot better. Simple gestures, it's all it takes to make me happy.

Challenge Day 29: Your Favorite Monorail Color

Pink, because it's pink. Doesn't get much deeper than that.

"Bibbity, Boppity, Boo"

I watched Cinderella last night for the first time in a long time. I remember why I love it so much, it's just amazing.  I do have my pet peeves about it though but I have pet peeves about pretty much everything. Firstly, her dress is white, not blue. I hate that everyone portrays it as blue ... IT IS NOT BLUE.  Secondly, I don't get why her wedding gown is much less glamorous than her ball gown but maybe because the Fairy Godmother didn't make it? idk.  Lastly, no one falls in love in a few hours with someone they don't even know the name of, sorry Prince Charming.

I read today that Disney is getting sued by Russell Marcus over Muppet Workshops.  He's claiming that they're breaching their contract and all this other stuff.  I bet Disney will win, I wouldn't go up against them, not like they don't have the money anyways.

Challenge Day 28: Your Favorite Theme Park

I spent the most time here and it has a castle, how could I not love it?

Challenge Day 27: Your Favorite Walt Disney Quote

Happy Birthday to Me!

Disneyland Shanghai is starting to be built this week and should open in 2016. Even though this is pretty cool, I'm pretty sure the last thing China needs is more people in it, just saying.  Also, Tron legacy came out on dvd today, twas a decent movie. I stumbled upon this which made me smile a little bit, thought you'd might enjoy it too if you're familiar with the deadly sins.

Today is my 22nd birthday! and I've done nothing fun.  Started the day off with a test and almost got blown over in the wind which was a blast.  All I've done is stuff my face and now I'm comatose which would be fine if I didn't have a quiz to study for. Most people I've talked to have had a poopy day too so that makes me feel a bit better. Poor Chris had car trouble on his way home from school, cars hate him.  But to cheer myself up, time to continue the Challenge. Ironically, one of the options is "saddest death" but that's far too depressing so lets go with option 2.

Challenge Day 26: Your Favorite Souvenir

I have two that I can't choose between. First is my autograph book. I love going back and seeing the messages the characters wrote.

Second is my "Passport" from the countries in EPCOT. Filling it in was the only good memories I have from that park, this and the fireworks.

"Yes. Nearly everybody gets twitterpated in the springtime."

I watched Bambi for the first time last night instead of studying for my biopsych test. Not only did I do horribly on the test but that movie is so not suitable for children! I always heard it was sad but I had no idea it was that sad.  The mom dies and Bambi even gets hurt and then he has to fight for Faline and his forest gets set on fire and his dad is basically never around until he has to be ... that's a lot to happen in 67 minutes.  If you haven't heard, Angelica, Penelope Cruz's character in the new Pirates movie is coming to Adventureland later this month (oooo, aaahhhhh) Anyways, I can't find a good challenge for day 25, all the options I've seen are boring but I'm doing them anyways so here it goes:

Challenge Day 25: Favorite Activity Outside the Parks but on Disney grounds

Explore. Explore Disney, explore the hotels, explore the shops ... it's all fun.

Also, Mickey and friends made an appearance at a basketball game recently.

"Rat patootie does not sound delicious"

Challenge Day 24: A Movie That Makes You Cry

I've never cried at a movie unless I was laughing or scared so I can't really fill this in.  However, the census seems to be UP, The Lion King, or Bambi for making people cry. My friend tells me I have no heart all the time because of this fact.  Just because I can't get emotional over a movie or a book or a friggen greeting card does not make me heartless. Would a heartless person work for Disney? I don't think so! Speaking of Disney, Monster's Inc. is on right now, and Ratatouille was on earlier, it's been a nice Disney day : ]

P.S. two days until my 22nd birthday
P.P.S. 129 days until Disney!!

Challenge Day: 23

Challenge Day 23: Scariest Ride?

I have this thing with elevators in general, so clearly this ride terrifies me. Love the movie though.

"Kitty!"

Pixar officially announced Monster's Inc 2: Monster's University today! I knew there was going to be a sequel but knowing what it is and that it's a prequel is pretty exciting : ] Also, POTC 5 has started script writing. I love the Pirates franchise but the more movies that come out the more worried I become that they won't be as good. However, as long as Johnny Depp keeps coming back as Jack Sparrow, I'll keep going to see them.  And the Town Square Theatre opens tomorrow! I knew it was in April but I had no idea it was so soon, I wish I was there for the premiere ... I wish I was there in general.  Last but not least, I have to mention tonight's episode of Grey's Anatomy ... holy moly.  The musical thing didn't really bug me that much which was good but it was like intense moment after intense moment.  I read somewhere that they're considering doing another one. I don't think they should but after the ratings come out who knows what will happen.  Can't wait for next week.

Shout out to my esposa Lizz, she's applying for a Pixar internship so I wish her the best of luck : ]

Challenge Day 21: Favorite Character to see in the Park

Mickey! He's the staple of Disney World and plus he has a cool wardrobe, I like seeing what he's wearing : ]

Challenge Day: 20

Challenge Day 20: Your Favorite Sequel

"You threw off my groove"

If you like Ukulele's or are a Robin Hood fan, listen to this guy do a rendition of the Whistle Stop. Or if you're a Gleek or just a big Darren Criss fan, listen to his covers of Part of Your World and Belle. I don't know why I'm just finding these, maybe because Glee is on a hiatus and I really missed watching it tonight.

Yeah I've been in a bad mood all night thanks to my lovely family so these videos helped a bunch. Who can stay mad when they're listening to Darren Criss and a ukulele? If only the videos could be combined, or if Darren played the ukulele! that'd be magical.

Challenge Day 19: Your Least Favorite Pixar Film

I honestly haven't even tried to watch the whole thing because it seems so dumb to me. Why is there going to be a sequel?

Monday, March 28, 2011

"A is for Axiom, your home sweet home. B is for Buy N Large, your very best friend. "

The Sounds like Summer concert series dates have been released. If you're in EPCOT from June 12-July 30, go check it out! I hear it's pretty good : ] Here's the line-up:

  • Hotel California – A Salute to the Eagles, 6/12-18/11
  • Stayin’ Alive – A Tribute to the Bee Gees, 6/19-25/11
  • Slippery When Wet – The Ultimate Bon Jovi Tribute, 6/26-7/2/11
  • Little Queen – The Music of Heart, 7/3-9/11
  • Frontiers – A Tribute to Journey, 7/10-16/11
  • Karin Lawson – A Tribute to Janet Jackson, 7/17-23/11
  • 2U – A Tribute to U2, 7/24-30/11

The new Disney Channel Original Movie : The Suite Life Movie, premiered this past weekend. If you haven't seen it, don't bother. It wasn't that good, sorry Disney, better luck next time.

Challenge Day 18: Your Favorite Pixar Film

This was a toughy, but I adore this movie.
